Can Serola is a luxury country hotel in an 18th century "masia", set in the Garrotxa Natural Park just a few miles from Gerona and Figueras. The eight rooms and suites provide space and comfort in a delightfully rural setting.

The Cataluña countryside here near the Pyrenees is refreshingly green and gently undulating. The hotel is located by a small river with expansive gardens full of trees and blessed with lots of lawns. There is a large swimming pool and an outdoor jacuzzi, or as an alternative, visitors might choose to swim in the fresh water pool of the river just a short walk away, as it tumbles down from the Pyrenees.

The eight rooms and guest suites take you on a worldwide journey as each is designed to evoke the atmosphere of a distant destination: Africa, India, Mexico and so on.

This is a holiday location ideal for country-lovers. There are views and walks in abundance, historic places are all around, or else it is the perfect place to chill, enjoying the beautiful exterior and interior of Can Serola without venturing far afield at all.

Restaurant:

Dinner is available for guests at Can Serola at weekends, and also lunch and dinner on weekdays by prior booking. There are many good restaurants nearby to give a choice of eating experiences.

What We Say:

There are many good reasons to stay at Can Serola, not least the gorgeous rooms with their carefully selected furnishings and ornaments reflecting the cultural theme of each room. However the unique feature is a short distance away in the river: the natural swimming pools. In our modern haste for pools that have been sanitised with clorine, algicide, ph modifier, cyanuric acid and whatever, perhaps we have lost sight of the simple satisfaction of swimming in pure fresh water. I can vouch for that pleasure.
