Hotel Rector is perfectly placed on the edge of the old quarter of Salamanca, where it is itself a part of the fabulous architecture that distinguishes the city.
Directly opposite is the "Casa Lis", one of the most important museums of Art Deco and Art Nouveau in the world. Right nearby there are the cathedrals, the famous University of Salamanca, the Casa de las Conchas, the Plaza Mayor and so on. No more than a few yards away you will find the Convent of San Esteban, the Motor Museum and the Roman bridge.
The hotel has a wonderful stone frontage, while behind there are comfortable and elegant rooms, including the 13 guest rooms. Much of the furniture was especially made for the Hotel Rector, in mahogany and olive-wood, to impart a unique sense of exclusivity. The bathrooms are exquisitely decorated with copious white marble.
There is a small bar for hotel guests, a fine dining room exclusively for breakfasts, and large reception lounge with comfortable armchairs and sofas. Inside, the hotel exudes an engaging sense of tranquillity that belies its convenient central position in the heart of Salamanca. Few city hotels can boast a view, but looking out on the Cathedral and the Casa Lis is a very pleasing experience that makes it quite clear that you can only be in Salamanca. All in all, a very fine hotel.
Restaurant:
The dining room at Hotel Rector only serves breakfast, but it is a very good breakfast of typical Spanish dishes such as Jamón Ibérico. However, for those who prefer only a light breakfast, the hotel offers a room-only option, leaving guests the opportunity to sample breakfast in one of the nearby cafeterías.The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many excellent restaurants.

What We Say:
We came across the Hotel Rector completely by accident, and what a discovery! That monumental stone facade is classic Salamanca, and so is the charming and friendly service within.Customer Feedback:

"The Rector Hotel was indeed a Charming Hotel. Our room was a very good size, light-filled, comfortable and a delight to stay in. The staff were most helpful and friendly. The general decor throughout the hotel was beautiful. The location was also excellent, being in walking distance of everything and our room had a lovely view of the Cathedral." S.J.
"We had a wonderful stay with excellent friendly service. We could not fault it." J.D.
"While we have loved staying in the paradors in Spain, we would not have missed our visit to your lovely hotel. The people could not have been nicer. The room was elegant but not fussy. We appreciated the ease and security of parking. One of the loveliest hotels in all of Europe." J.H.
