This enchanting old-style cortijo is situated alongside the stunning rock formations of the El Torcal National Park 4 km from the village of Villanueva de La Concepcion. The breathtaking views as far as the Mediterranean in the distance are a feast for the eye.
Created 12 years ago on an 11 acre almond grove (a dream of the present owners Karen and Geoffrey Banham), the hotel and restaurant have grown from strength to strength under the watchful eye of Karen. She has an "eye for detail" that is second to none and clients can feel totally pampered in the beautifully decorated bedrooms, salon and the romantic, candle-lit dining room. Each room is individually decorated with locally made pottery, antiques and fine paintings. All are named after Spanish artists. Sumptuous materials cover the king-size double beds and the warmth of the bedrooms is enhanced by the under-floor heating and real fireplaces. The suites even have their own jacuzzi on their own private terrace, and every room has expansive views of the Andalucian hills and mountains.
Add to all this is an incredible number of facilities for a ten-bedroomed hotel - heated swimming pool, sauna, gymnasium, horse-riding, mountain bikes, all-weather tennis court, aromatherapy massage and beauty treatments, walking routes from the hotel (accompanied by the hotel dog!!!) and it is easy to understand why La Posada del Torcal has earned its worldwide reputation.

Restaurant:
La Galeria Restaurant has a fantastic reputation both locally and further afield. Under the direction of head chef Paul Tugwell ( ex-Savoy Hotel, London) assisted by a new young talent Leonardo Gallegos, La Galeria offers some stunning food, a clever combination of some of Spain’s most traditional dishes, with an international twist. And what a setting! The amazing views are almost (but not quite) enough to distract you from the superbly presented food.A Word From the Owner:
"La Posada del Torcal has been both our home and our hotel since 1996. We have always strived to create a special, yet relaxed atmosphere, where our guests feel totally "at home" and at the same time know without a doubt they are in a hotel which will offer them the highest level of service. Our repeat customers are numerous and I believe this is the best compliment a hotel can have."Hotel Amenities:
