What will the weather be like?
Exclusivity and quality go hand in hand with the tradition of a sleepy Spanish village in this wonderful little hotel, the Venta El Museo. On the outside there are whitewashed walls, rejas and mountain scenery, while inside the Swiss owners have spared no expense to provide an unforgettable experience for their guests. The attention to detail is amazing.

Each of the 16 en suite rooms (smoking or non smoking) has its own individual theme and style of decoration, yet retaining the consistent ambience of Venta El Museo. Some have a large balcony with Jacuzzi and/or hydro massage bath. Names like Alhambra, Africa and Plata hint at what you will find within. The highest quality of furnishing and fittings is used throughout, and special attention was paid to the comfort of the beds which were imported from Switzerland.

There is lots of space to relax at Venta El Museo. Choose from the traditional tapas bar, where you can enjoy a wide selection of tapas with your drink, or the elegant Moorish bar, especially appropriate for an after-dinner whisky or brandy. To sooth the aches of an active day, there is a sauna and jacuzzi, or for those with energy to spare there is a gym or maybe a trip over to the nearby swimming pool. Alternatively, there is a terrace where guests can just sit and gaze up at the mountain.

For a brief interlude in the 19th century, Lucainena was a mining boom town with a population ten times what it is today. Now it is a quiet village of narrow streets, flowers and whitewashed houses. It sits in the Sierra Alhamilla, ideally situated for walking, cycling and generally enjoying the countryside. Within easy distance there are numerous attractions, Mini-Hollywood, Sorbas, Tabernas, Cabo de Gata and Almería itself.

Restaurant:

There is a choice of two restaurants at Venta El Museo. The Museum restaurant (smoking permitted) with walls decorated with various farming and mining artefacts. This is a place that is equally popular with locals and guests alike, and has developed an excellent local reputation.

The "Gourmeria" restaurant (smoking not permitted) is an elegant room. This is also the perfect place to celebrate parties and to sample the hotels excellent and reasonably-priced wine list.

In both restaurants, typical traditional Spanish dishes of the region are served. For groups special "party" menus are available on reservation.

Breakfast is served in a breakfast room full of vibrant colours, where the morning sun will come flooding in.

A Word From the Owner:

"We offer a warm welcome to our guests. If you are looking for a special place away from the hectic pace of normal life, in a typical white Andalusian village surrounded by mountains, then Venta el Museo is your choice. The weather is good all year with more than 350 sunny days. The summer months July and August are pretty hot. If you prefer sunshine without the heat, choose spring, autumn or winter."
