Hotel Las Helgueras

A small rural hotel near the Asturias coast

Las Helgueras is a “Casa Rural” (a small country hotel) in a small village close to both the sea and the mountains. It makes a delightful base for travelling around the area seeing the wide range of sights that Asturias and Cantabria have to offer.

Las Helgueras melts into its surroundings, a house built in traditional style with oodles of wood and stone, simply but tastefully decorated. The lovely breakfast room has great views to get you in the mood as you start your day. Then at the other end of the day, choose from settling down in the cosy sitting room, with a book chosen from the little library, or relaxing in the garden on one of the sunbeds or hammocks.

There are seven double rooms and one triple, each one decorated in a traditional country style with lots of wooden beams, exposed stone walls and furnished with antique pieces. They are equipped with en-suite bathroom, television, heating, internet connection, and so on so that a stay in Las Helgueras is comfortable as well as appealing to the senses.

The rugged northern coastline of this part of Spain has so much to offer; beaches, cliffs, coves and little fishing villages. Then just a short way inland, the mountains of Asturias and Cantabria are a walkers paradise, culminating in the magnificent Picos de Europa.

Restaurant:

The dining room is a light, bright room with large windows. This is where the owners serve an excellent homemade buffet breakfast, and will offer ideas for walks, activities or visits all around the area.
The hotel has a number of favourite suggestions for sampling the local dinner cuisine.

We are close to forests and mountains, there are walking trails all around us, and of course we are only five minutes by car from La Franca beach. You are important to us. "

Cancellations:

Cancellation must be received in writing (fax or e-mail) at least 7 days before the scheduled arrival. In the case of later cancellations or no-shows the hotel will charge for one night in Low and Mid season, and two nights in High and Special season.
