El Gecko is an inn within the genuine meaning of the word.
The five guestrooms are big and airy with a colourful take on the Andaluz-rustic theme that runs right through this charming building. This is a place where you can happily take up residence for several days, revelling in the charm of this tiny village in the mountains. Squeezed between the 18th century house and the river, the patio garden is a delight with the tranquil sound of trickling water and a splendid array of colourful geraniums and shady trees. The pool area is a quiet oasis of relaxation.
A day at El Gecko kicks off with a lazy breakfast on the terrace, then leaving time to take a walk or drive through the magnificent scenery of the Guadiaro Valley or hop on the train for a day in Ronda. Lunch and dinner can be taken either on the terrace or in the bistro, lively at lunch time or candlelit and romantic at night.
Hotel El Gecko is situated in the centre of the sleepy Pueblo Blanco (white village) of Estación de Cortes de la Frontera, deep in the mountains of Andalucia, yet with easy access to Algeciras and Gibraltar, Ronda and Málaga. Perfect for a get-away-from-it-all weekend – or a longer stay to explore the Guadiaro Valley and all the attractions of the surrounding area.
Restaurant:
The emphasis of the bistro restaurant is on fresh, locally-sourced produce offering a modern international menu within an informal atmosphere. Guests have the choice of eating in the bistro or on the riverside terrace..
