At the Hospederia El Churrasco, you can soak up the atmosphere and history just by putting your head out of the window. This lovely little hotel is situated in the famous Jewish Quarter, right in the heart of old Còrdoba. Having built the reputation of the El Churrasco restaurant over many years, it was a natural step for owner Rafael Carrillo to create a little hotel alongside.
The hotel and restaurant complement each other beautifully, with both having evolved in the quaint little jumble of whitewashed houses and geranium-filled patios that make up the old town. Hotel El Churrasco provides comfort and luxury, from a team who have been specialising in the art of hospitality for over 30 years.
Rafael’s love of his native city is reflected in his choice of room names, with nine great Cordoban artists celebrated here. Each room is unique, sumptuously decorated with lavish materials and antique furniture, yet also equipped with modern “necessities” like plasma-screen TVs, computers and hydro-massage baths. When it comes to guest comfort, nothing is left to chance.
There is a plenty of space to relax in El Churrasco, whether in one of the two typically Cordoban patios, in the terrace or the bar, or in the luxuriously-appointed salon.
Córdoba is a relatively small city, yet a giant of history. It was the capital of Roman Spain, and the first capital of the Islamic Caliphate. On the one hand it houses the Mezquita, one of the world’s masterpieces of great Islamic architecture. Then on the other hand, it is home to the pocket-sized treasures of the Jewish quarter and the old town. Don’t miss it.
Restaurant:
Next door to the hotel is the Restaurante El Churrasco, one of the best restaurants in Córdoba, whose fame and reputation have even spread beyond Spain. It is named after one of its local specialities, churrasco (grilled pork served with pepper sauce).Breakfast is served in your room, or in any of the public rooms of the hotel.
