Casa Capella consists of three fabulously-appointed apartments in the centre of the astonishing city of Barcelona, the 'L'Exiample' district, which is next to Passeig de Gracia, Barcelona's main avenue and sometimes dubbed the Spanish 'Champs Elysee'. There is an apartment to suit any number of guests from one to fifteen, and they are designed to be of practical and aesthetic appeal to a broad cross-section of people: couples, individuals, families, holidaymakers or those on business. Casa Capella, Barcelona

The basics are that Casa Capella 1, Casa Capella 2 and Casa Serra sleep four, six and twelve respectively, although they can take up to five, eight and fifteen with the use of extra beds. Casa Capella 1 has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, Casa Capella 2 has three bedrooms and three bathrooms and Casa Serra has six bedrooms and four bathrooms.

Casa Capella, BarcelonaOn arrival, owners John and Josefina love to show guests around the apartment, making sure they know where everything is and that they get the best from their stay in this unique city.

Dealing with practical aspects, kitchens are extremely comprehensive: dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, all the cutlery and crockery you could require, things such as corkscrews and can openers etc, and apartments have washing machines and tumble dryers. A quick look at our amenities list below should show that most things you could want are covered.

There is ample space in which to relax and enjoy the apartment. There are sufficient sofas on which to sit and an open-plan living room and dining area. Casa Serra is particularly full of extra little places, because as well as the normal living area, there is an old chapel as well as a games room with a classic table football set and board games. The huge amount of space means that Casa Serra never feels overcrowded, even when it is at or near capacity. For those who need to keep up with work while they are away, all three apartments benefit from the use of a desktop computer and printer.

A Word From the Owner:

"An ideal place to spend your honeymoon, or to relax and enjoy a totally new experience. Our aim is to anticipate and to fulfil your every dream."

"Dear John and Josefina,

Casa Capella is a heaven, how can you not fall in love with a place that not only supplies an espresso pot, but proper cups and spoons as well!? The local brew pub just on the other side of Diagonal and so many sidewalk cafes, veg and bakery stalls to choose from - we felt immediately at home". Larry and Rene Lawrence, Greensboro, California

"A light-filled apartment, well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounges and an office with an Italian Deli around the corner (for coffee connoisseurs) - this apartment is a home away from home and we enjoyed it very much.
Regards, Angela Seward, Perth, Australia"

Josefina and John
We greatly enjoyed our stay in your lovely apartment.  It was the perfect location for our "home base" as we explored the beautiful city of Barcelona! Thanks so much for all the helpful hints around the apartment and the great walk-through.  It made us feel right at home. Hopefully we'll be able to return in the future. Thanks again!

"Dear Mrs. Puigdefàbregas Serra:

It has been the distinct pleasure of our extended family to stay in Casa Serra for the past two weeks during our holiday in Barcelona. The apartment exceeded all of our expectations, and greatly enhanced out enjoyment of this wonderful city. Please allow me to elaborate on a number of features from a guest´s perspective that may be helpful to prospective tenants in the future.

The location is central and in a very nice area. We never had any apprehension walking to and from our late night outings. The building is quite secure with a locked front gate. Shopping, restaurants, markets, and metro station are only a short walk away - and a wonderful bakery is literally a few steps from the front door. Taxis are easily flagged from in front of the building or on a major thoroughfare only half a block away.

The building is a substantial stone edifice that is both charming and in excellent condition. There is access to the upper floors by an elevator or by the stairwell that surrounds it. Though the apartment is officially on the "third" floor, it is actually five floors above the street - providing distance from any street noise. The apartment itself is quite spacious, with 15 foot ceilings through the entry, entertainment and dining areas. There are large windows throughout the apartment. The extensive woodwork, hardwood floors, ceiling treatments, and fine furnishings give the apartment an ambience that is both warm and elegant. With multiple living areas, we found it easy to have several activities going simultaneously - Scrabble, Football, television, reading, conversation. Similarly, because the bedrooms are well away from the living areas, our different generations could maintain independent sleep schedules without disturbing each other. The multiple bathrooms also allowed our large group to bathe and dress with easy efficiency.

The kitchen is fully equiped with gas stove and oven, microwave, large pantry, cooking utensils, and ample pottery/glassware. A full-size refrigerator/freezer is just outside the kitchen in a serving area. Unlimited bottled water was available from a free-standing cooler next to the refrigerator. We hired a chef to prepare most of our evening meals, and comfortably seated 14 at the dining room table. The washer and dryer in the utility room appeared to be new, and we found their presence to be quite helpful in our extended stay. We also appreciated the innumerable "fully-equipped" details that made Casa Serra a low hassle experience - from corkscrews, bread box, to iron, to the rolling shopping bag. Finally, you were quite prompt and gracious in responding to any assistance that we required during our stay.

The bottom line is that our quarters were so comfortable that we felt little urgency to leave them, though we knew that there was much about Barcelona that we had not yet explored. Thanks for making Casa Serra available to us. We look forward to another visit in the future.

Best regards,
Mark D. Cunningham, Lewisville, Texas"
