It is a 19th century family house that has been restored and re-designed to become a modern house-hotel to satisfy the needs of the modern traveller. Decoration has been kept deliberately simple so that it takes nothing away from the special village atmosphere and the wonderful views.

Vejer is a typically Andalucian white hilltop village that overlooks countryside and is only 10 minutes drive from the beaches near Cape Trafalgar. For a lazy afternoon in the all-year-round sun, guests can relax on the roof-top terrace and enjoy the striking views out over Vejer and the country beyond.

Rooms have been arranged around a stone-flagged patio which serves as a breakfast room in the morning and also as a lounge in the afternoon. All rooms have a full bathroom and there is a choice of patio rooms or outward facing rooms with views, and also a suite with the potential to accomodate up to 4 people.

Nearby fishing villages like Conil, Barbate and Zahara de Los Atunes are famous for their tuna catches, and make an interesting diversion during a day at the coast, especially at lunchtime. The beaches themselves, of course, are ideal for surfers, with Palmar in particular being renowned for the good surf and easy-going lifestyle.

For country-lovers there are footpaths and routes for horse-riding and cycling. The area is also a favourite destination of birdwatchers, with a big colony of birds of prey and many migratory birds passing through.

Restaurant:

Buffet breakfast is served in the patio until 10:30. The hotel has no restaurant, but there are many restaurants in the village, with choices to suit all tastes and pockets.

A Word From the Owner:

"Vejer was once a favourite retreat of Spanish Naval Officers. Today it is still a traditional Andalusian village yet with a cosmopolitan touch which has made it a favoured escape from the stress of big cities."

Customer Feedback:

"Great hotel. Spotless. Stunning views from the roof-top terrace. Got plenty of tips from the reception, like which beach to go and where to eat around Vejer de la Frontera. Good breakfast and beautiful music in the morning. Simple and quiet would be the resume. Beautifully restored house with a lot of personal touches and great breakfasts del dia."

"La Botica is new, clean, relaxing with stunning views in the heart of Vejer. The rooms are spacious, traditional yet modern, light and functional. Just love the place and love the town."
