Cortijo Aguila Real sits atop a hill, an aristocratic Andalusian country house in an idyllic location surrounded by 5000 sq metres of gardens and 20 hectares of wheat and sunflower fields. Just a few miles from the lively city of Seville, here you will find nothing but peace, calm and the twitter of birds amongst the pine trees, palms, bougainvillea and geraniums. Dating from around 1900, this extravantly stylish mansion and its many buildings were lovingly converted into a small hotel in a five-year restoration process.

The lounges, library and bar are typically "country house" in their plushness and elegance, yet distinctively Andalucian too. There is never any doubt that here you are in the house of a true Spanish country gentleman. The delightful guest rooms of the Cortijo Aguila Real are each named after flowers and are individually decorated with hand-painted furniture and exquisite soft-furnishings. The service is impeccable, yet friendly and personal, all combining to make a stay here a unique and memorable experience. Naturally there is air-conditioning (this area gets HOT in summer) and all the modern luxuries of a four-star hotel. As the hotel is all on the ground floor, and many of the doors are quite wide, there are a number of rooms that could be suitable for wheelchair-bound guests.

The proximity to Seville (you can see the city in the distance) offers the opportunity to visit the monuments and sights of this most beautiful and ancient city, yet allows you to return at night to the gentle comforts of the Andalusian countryside. And when the sights have been seen, continue the holiday relaxing by the pool, taking a long walk in the country, or sampling the various activities on offer nearby.

Restaurant:

The La Veranda restaurant offers a la carte dining, with the option to sit outside in summer to enjoy the balmy Sevillano evenings. Dishes are traditional Andalucian with fresh ingredients, as much as possible from the estate's own gardens and farm.

There is a buffet breakfast, complementary morning coffee, room service and a drinks and food service at the swimming pool.

"It took five years of work, finding 25,000 reclaimed tiles to repair the roof, restoring doors and woodwork, seeking out craftsmen who could hand-paint the motifs on the beds to match the coverings.
